Live-In Nanny
A live in nanny has sole charge of the child/ren and lives with the family either having his/her own room within the family home or alternatively he/she may have a self contained flat within the home or grounds.
The Nanny would normally work for 11-12 hours each day and be required to baby-sit for 2 or 3 evenings a week. The salary for a live in nanny is generally less than that of a live out nanny as it is determined by taking into account the accommodation, food and other living cost which may be provided in lieu of some pay.

At Caleeda we consider the daily duties of a live in nanny to include:
  • All the basic childcare and learning needs
  • Organising play dates and social interaction with the child’s friends and other children in the local community.
  • Meal preparation and the cleaning up afterwards.
  • Laundry and ironing of the child’s clothes.
  • Making and changing the child’s bed.
  • Keeping child’s bedroom and playroom clean and tidy.
  • Accompanying the child/ren to any appointments that they might have.

In addition, the nanny may also be asked to do some of the following jobs to help the household run smoothly:
  • Additional babysitting.
  • Basic family shopping.
  • Taking responsibility for any family pets.
  • Running errands for the family-collecting dry cleaning, posting parcels etc

Any duties outside of those highlighted in this section would need to be discussed and agreed with your nanny prior to engagement.
